Odoo takes stock of 2026 and unveils its ambitions for 2027 during Odoo Experience
Odoo, an open-source software platform featuring applications designed for business management, is revealing the brand-new version of its product during its annual Odoo Experience event. This is the perfect opportunity to attend more than 450 inspiring talks, meet more than 400 exhibitors, and learn about the achievements and ambitious projects of the Walloon unicorn.
A 2026 report that lives up the stated ambitions
The exhibition halls at Brussels Expo were decked out in their most beautiful shade of purple as version 20 of the Odoo software has just been unveiled to visitors. Nearly 45,000 curious attendees are taking part in Europe’s largest tech and business event, which runs for three days and brings to a close the series of events that took place in early September in the United States, Mexico, Kenya, and India.
Odoo is taking advantage of this unmissable event to review its 2026 figures. Billing revenue is expected to reach approximately €900 million euros, representing 45% growth. The company is therefore maintaining its forecast of achieving one billion by 2027, supported by growing enthusiasm among entrepreneurs and steady growth in its customer base. The first half of 2026 was also marked by the opening of two new subsidiaries, one in the Philippines and the other in France. To date, the tech giant employs nearly 8,000 people worldwide and plans to continue hiring to have 10,000 employees by 2027.
From artificial intelligence to payroll: Innovative 2027 projects
Artificial intelligence is at the heart of the new version of Odoo and its apps, also thanks to the MCP connector, which allows any AI system to be linked with Odoo. More than a conversational agent, it is a true operational assistant that can be trained to execute some tasks and even grow skills. AI is now fully part of Odoo’s software suite, designed to help users work more efficiently, make informed decisions and automate routine tasks. Furthermore, the open source nature of Odoo offers a clear advantage, as artificial intelligence models rely on this open infrastructure to predict responses to queries.
Last April, Odoo and Partena Professional announced a landmark partnership, combining the former’s cutting-edge technology with the latter’s business expertise. The goal for 2027 is clear: to revolutionize the HR and payroll experience by offering a suite that is more powerful and efficient than ever before. The release of Odoo version 20 is sure to impress: a redesigned dashboard that provides everything at a glance, payslips created in just a few clicks, and significant improvements in the management of employee records, DIMONA reporting, and long-term absences are among the many new features announced.
Finally, electronic invoicing remains a highly relevant topic as the 2030 deadline set by the European Union draws nearer. Odoo therefore continues to make this a priority and is carrying out the necessary development work to comply with the requirements and deadlines of each European country.
A reworked pricing to meet current stakes
Since 2022, Odoo didn’t change the pricing despite an inflation cumulated over the years of 26%. However, due to this inflation and the skyrocketing costs associated with AI, hosting, and IT, the Odoo team had to slightly adjust its pricing. The free use of one single app remains in effect. The prices for the “Standard” version of modules also stay the same. The “Custom” plan rate increases by 20%. Finally, a “Light User” access for €7.90 per employee will allow an employer to handle the human resources actions and to give access to the necessary apps to conduct their job.
These price adjustments are thought to adapt to the current reality while staying the most fair and affordable for the customers: “Even if we were to double or triple Odoo’s price, I think all our customers would stay, but I would never do that,” explains Fabien Pinckaers, CEO of Odoo. “Because it’s not about cost or profit; it’s about accessibility and fairness.”
The innovative, integrated, affordable nature as the driving force
2027 is a year placed under the innovation radar, during which Odoo wants to further establish itself as the integrated software alternative for all companies, from SME’s to larger groups.
“With Odoo, I see big. Providing business leaders with a platform that allows them to manage their company easily while being at the cutting edge of modernity will always be my top priority. I strongly believe in my product and I’m convinced it is a game changer on the market.“
